Sonoma Model One
This driver installer file is REQUIRED by all Windows users in order to ensure bit-perfect transmission of digital audio data from a PC to the Sonoma Model One amplifier via USB.
Windows users who have Microsoft’s SmartScreen cloud-based anti-phishing/anti-malware feature activated will be confronted by a blue ‘Windows protected your PC’ dialog box when they attempt to install the Sonoma XMOS driver. The box will warn ‘Windows Defender SmartScreen prevented an unrecognized app from starting. Running this app may put your PC at risk.’ It will go on to indicate:
Publisher: Super Audio Center, LLC
There will be two options: Run anyway/Don’t run.
Click on ‘Run anyway’ to proceed, and install the driver.
The reason for this warning message is related to the ‘reputation’ feature in SmartScreen, and requires a certain number of downloads before the software is trusted by Microsoft. However, there is nothing to fear, and the software itself is properly certified. If you do not see this warning, it either means that the appropriate number of downloads has been reached, or you do not have SmartScreen activated.
