“The sound from the APERIO is truly astonishing. It sits in my home office and was purchased, (from Moon-Audio.com) to replace STAX SR-009S cans running off a STAX SRM-T8000, which is an outstanding system; but in my opinion the APERIO is superior in all respects.

To my ears, the instrument and voice placement is far more accurate with a better and more realistic soundstage and just incredible sonic accuracy with no harshness whatsoever. I’m also impressed with the electronics. With a Roon Nucleus+ source, I ran balanced analog from a Mytek Brooklyn+ and also from a Mytek Manhattan II to the APERIO balanced analog inputs just to compare, and have yet to find anything coming through either Mytek that sounded comparable to the LAN feed to the APERIO.

I’ve also compared the APERIO to my ‘BIG System’, (Wilson Audio XVX Chronosonic Speakers + Wilson Audio Master Subsonics + a McIntosh MC1.25KW Amp for each). The APERIO compares favorably to this system. The APERIO’s soundstage isn’t as broad, but it’s being compared to highly-accurate and well-fed speakers that are placed eleven feet apart in a huge listening space; and the APERIO obviously can’t shake the floor like four speakers with four woofer drivers and six subwoofer drivers, but in terms of sonic accuracy and listening pleasure I’m happy to shuffle down to my office and listen to the APERIO’s as an alternative to the BIG System.

To date I have something around 40 hours listening to my favorite and most familiar music on the APERIO and can’t say enough in praise of the system. I’ve listened to pretty much every high-end headphone setup available for audition in the USA and in my opinion the APERIO is the best of I’ve heard. Congratulations on an outstanding product!”
