Introducing the Warwick Acoustics APERIO – GoldenSound Signature Edition

Warwick Acoustics has been working with GoldenSound for some time to create a new and unique variant of the ultimate listening experience, the flagship APERIO headphone system.

Combining the engineering excellence of Warwick Acoustics with GoldenSound’s deep appreciation of headphone acoustics has led to the creation of a new perspective on a revered product that delivers a flawless listening experience.

The Story of Perfection Reimagined

The APERIO has been deemed by many in the audio industry to be one of the best sounding headphone systems available today. Critics say it delivers a true reproduction of the original recording in extreme detail, without embellishment or colouration, resulting in, arguably, the worlds the most remarkable and immersive head-fi experience.

Following an in-depth review, and after spending a month living with the APERIO, GoldenSound – a British high-end audio expert whose masterful reviews have earned him a large following and reputation among headphone enthusiasts - shared his thoughts, admiration and excitement for the APERIO with us. At the same time, Goldensound expressed that for his ‘ears’ and personal taste, some gentle re-tuning of the sound signature could allow the APERIO to deliver a new interpretation of perfection that no other headphone system has ever reached. We, at Warwick Acoustics, were intrigued to ‘hear’ Goldensound’s interpretation and allowed him that opportunity.

Following a blind listening test of the original APERIO and GoldenSound’s tuning, we experienced a version of the system which draws out different aspects of performances in unparalleled clarity, with the expansive soundstage and realism of the APERIO, whilst staying true to the original recording.

Here began the collaboration, uniting the science of Warwick Acoustics cutting edge headphone system with the art of listening from GoldenSound, to create a thrilling new version of the ultimate headphone experience – all ‘Made in Britain’.

In September 2024, we took the first iterations of the APERIO GSE to CanJam SoCal, and then to CanJam Dallas a few weeks later to obtain feedback and evaluate the reaction from the audiophile community. With many listeners preferring the GSE tuned APERIO when auditioned next to the original, we knew we needed to complete the collaboration and bring this new variant of the APERIO to the market for the enjoyment of audiophiles globally.
