Sonoma Acoustics Heads to CanJam London With Its Model One Armed With Two Stellar Reviews by Chris Martens and Tyll Hertsens

Sonoma Acoustics is heading to CanJam London with its Model One (M1) Electrostatic Headphone System bolstered by exceptional reviews by two well-known industry critics—Chris Martens of Hi-Fi+ and Tyll Hertsens of Innerfidelity.

“It’s hard to believe that it was only a year ago at the last CanJam London that we showed an early Warwick Audio Technologies (WAT) prototype of the Model One,” said David Kawakami, GM, Sonoma Acoustics. “We’ve come a long way and are very gratified to see the first outstanding reviews by these highly-respected audio critics.”

In the summary of his review of the M1, which appears in the June issue (#148) of Hi-Fi+, critic and publisher Chris Martens writes, “…I would encourage listeners to go hear this impressive system for themselves. Just be forewarned that to hear Sonoma’s Model One system in action is to want one of your very own (or at least that’s been my experience thus far).”

Meanwhile Tyll Hertsens has written an in-depth review of the M1 on his Innerfidelity website and given it a coveted spot on his Wall of Fame. Mr. Hertsens writes, “Music listening pleasure is the paramount characteristic for any audio gear and in my opinion and the Model One delivers.” In addition to his online review, he has also posted an 18-minute video about the M1 on YouTube.

The Model One is the first high-end headphone in the world to utilize the High Precision Electrostatic Laminate (HPEL) transducer developed by WAT in the UK. Sonoma Acoustics is a new start-up founded by key members of the SACD project who were responsible for the development of the SonomaTM Digital Audio Workstation, the world’s first DSD recorder/editor.
